The Afya Foundation in Yonkers is packing supplies for Greece and refugee camps in the Middle East to support hospitals, health care providers and charities.
Afya is sending 35 pallets of inventory valued at $500,000 to partners in Lesbos and Globus Relief to support their work in the refugee camps.
This shipment is financially supported by the Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief-Syrian Refugees.
To date, Afya has shipped 500 pounds of equipment and supplies to Lesbos.
“The vital need for supplies and support continues in Greece and refugee camps in the Middle East, and is even more dire as winter sets in,” said Danielle Butin, director of Afya.
