Afya Announces Elizabeth Schroeder as Chair of the Board of Directors

Afya is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Schroeder, EdD, MSW, as Chair of its Board of Directors.

A member of Afya’s Board for the past two years and former Secretary and Interim Vice Chair, Dr. Schroeder brings more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience to the role. An award-winning educator, facilitator, and consultant, she has worked with schools, organizations, and United Nations agencies across the United States and around the world, specializing in nonprofit management, strategic planning, and organizational sustainability.

“Beth was an outstanding Board Chairperson. I feel very fortunate to have overlapped with her, and learned a great deal during her tenure. We are moving forward with a deeply committed Board and expanded Afya team under Danielle’s incomparable leadership. It is a joy to be a part of a mission and organization that improves people’s lives around the world every single day.”

Afya is grateful for Beth Stevens’ service and leadership and looks forward to working with Dr. Schroeder as the organization continues its mission of improving access to healthcare and medical supplies for underserved communities around the world.
