Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, goggles, and face shields are in short supply around the world, but nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers need it in order to stay safe and continue working.
Afya is collecting hand-made PPE and distributing it to healthcare workers. We will only deliver this material to those who have told us that hand-made PPE is safe for them to use.
There are many ways that individuals can make PPE from their homes.
- You can sew face masks either by hand or with a sewing machine. Visit the New York Times or the CDC to find simple directions.
- If you have access to a 3-D printer, you can use it to make a variety of materials for healthcare workers, including face shields.
- You can make a variety of other materials. Please contact us for more information and instructions.
