India Covid Crisis Relief
India’s second wave of Covid-19 is devastating and unlike anything we’ve seen in the U.S. With an average of over 300,000 new cases per day, the health system is utterly overwhelmed. A lack of supplies such as oxygen and beds means patients are being turned away from hospitals.
Afya is working with the U.S. chapter of Sewa International, a humanitarian relief organization who are working with the Indian Ministry of Health and local hospitals to identify, procure, ship, and deliver critical needs. With an emphasis on the supplies needed to ensure oxygen can be administered and that patients can receive care at overcrowded and under-resourced hospitals, Afya is preparing to send the following equipment:
CPAP machines, BIPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen masks, oxygen tubing with nasal cannula, stretchers, medical beds, exam tables, transport chairs, and more.
Afya’s specialization in medical equipment allows us to mobilize quickly and deliver lifesaving material to India. Donate today to help Afya deliver these necessary medical supplies and equipment to our partners in India and empower local healthcare providers to safely treat those suffering from Covid-19.
