How to Volunteer at Afya
Afya has been working hard to get PPE to healthcare workers in need since the COVID-19 Crisis began in March.
Due to public health restrictions regarding Covid-19, Afya will not be accepting in-person volunteers until further notice.
Please continue reading this page to find out how you can volunteer remotely! We have opportunities for volunteers to sort material at home, to make PPE at home, and for students to intern with us remotely!
Volunteers can donate their time remotely to help Afya protect our frontline workers.
- Families or groups can sort material at home with our Boxes for Life program.
- Individuals as young as 4 years old can volunteer, learn about altruism, and help our community!
- See the Boxes for Life page for more information.
You Can Make PPE for Healthcare Workers!

Community/volunteer service credit available!
Beginner seamstresses can sew face masks by hand.
Or intermediate seamstresses can use a sewing machine.
It’s very simple to make face shields from office supplies!
Or advanced 3D printer users can make face shields!
