Today, right here with the COVID-19 pandemic in New York, the need for action and the volume of need for protective supplies is indescribable. Hospitals, federally qualified health centers, and community organizations all need to protect their frontline. We have to protect our healthcare workers.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, goggles, and face shields are in short supply around the world, but nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers need it in order to stay safe and continue working.
Afya is partnering with Hudson River Health Care in Peekskill, which will serve as a distribution point for FQHCs in Westchester. Afya is also sharing supplies with Harlem United, an FQHC with 25 sites that handled about 23,000 visits last year.
