Kentucky faces an incredible uphill battle after four tornadoes tore through the state on December 10. Whole towns were flattened and at least 70 people, including 12 children, have been killed. As the recovery effort continues it is believed the death toll will surpass 100. Greater than one hundred people are unaccounted for, more than 1,000 buildings were destroyed and 24,000 people are without power.
The Afya Foundation is identifying partners on the ground that are providing aid and will be assessing their needs alongside our stockpile of medical supplies. We plan to deliver supplies to affected communities as soon as possible.
